“Star” Stowe (born Ellen Louise Maligo , March 19, 1956 in Little Rock, Arkansas - died March 16, 1997 in Coral Springs, Florida) was an American model. She was Playboy magazine’s Playmate of the Month for its February 1977 issue. Her centerfold was photographed by Pompeo Posar.

She was an acquaintance of Gene Simmons and hung out with him and the rest of KISS. In 1977, she married Peter Maligo and had a son. She eventually divorced her husband.

Stowe moved to Fort Lauderdale in 1986 to find work as an exotic dancer. She fell out of the limelight and into drugs, alcohol and street prostitution in the Miami-Fort Lauderdale area. She was found murdered on March 16, 1997. Police belived her killing to be a serial murder.

Dorothy Stratten, Murder Of A Playmate

Dorothy was raised in Vancouver, B.C., and it was in Coquitlam that Dorothy Hoogstraten grew up, and, in 1976, entered high school. She was already a beauty– darlingly blue eyed, blonde, voluptuous. An early male admirer, Jeff Staudacher, described her as being “wholesome” and “sexy” at the same time. To earn spending money, Dorothy took a part-time job at a Dairy Queen in Vancouver, and it was there that she met a local promoter, Paul Snider.

Paul was a fanatical “get rich quick” kind of guy. Pushy, sleazy, know-it-all obnoxious - he quickly saw Dorothy’s potential and after boyfriending her, he persuaded her to take some nude photos for him, which he sent to Playboy. She forged her mother’s signature on the model release when she sent her nude pictures to Playboy. A year later she was a Playboy Playmate and living at the mansion in Los Angeles. On Stratten’s Playmate data sheet, she listed her major turnoff as “jealous people.”

Paul followed, with all his schemes always working. Although Dorothy’s career began to flourish, Paul languished. Seeing that he was losing his grip on her, he constantly pressured her to marry. Finally talking her into it during an on-the-whim trip to Vegas in June 1979, but it was over almost as quickly as it began. Snider was obsessed with Dorothy and her career. He forbade her to drink coffee, because it would stain her teeth, and he supposedly poisoned her pet dog because he was jealous of it. It eventually caused their relationship to deteriorate, and by August of 1980 they were separated, pending a divorce.

Paul had a lot of crazy ideas - he once took to making weight benches, and with the scraps made a bondage bench he was hoping to market. He was inspired when visiting The Pleasure Chest, a sex shop in LA. The Pleasure Chest opted NOT to buy the bench, and it stood in a corner of his bedroom for months and months.

Anyways - Dorothy went to work on the Peter Bogdanovich film THEY ALL LAUGHED. She fell in love with the director and was basically leaving Paul for him. Now to talk to Paul and get rid of him….yeah, right. She didn’t know that Snider hired a private detective to follow Stratten around after she began staying part of the time at Peter Bogdanovich’s Bel Air home.

On the morning of August 14th, 1980, Dorothy agreed to meet Snider at the apartment, and showed up just after noon. She was wearing flats and slacks, carrying a big zippered handbag. She had withdrawn $1000 in cash to give to Snider, and hoped to settle her split from him, once and for all. At 12:30, the private investigator called Paul, and Paul told him that “everything was going fine.”

At 5 in the afternoon, the two female occupants of the apartment came home and noticed the two vehicles (Dorothy’s and Paul’s) in the driveway. They saw that Paul’s door was closed, and they heard no sounds. They assumed that Paul and Dorothy wanted privacy. At 6:00 they watched the news, and then went out to eat. At around 7, Dr. Cushner came home and he too decided to give them privacy. At 8, the women returned home. At around 11, the investigator called the Doctor on his private line (no one was answering Snider’s phone, and it was continually ringing), and suggested they take a peek into the room. Boy oh boy did they get a surprise. They called the cops.

Cops arrived at 12:30am. They found Dorothy lying across the end of a low waterbed. Get this: she had black ants crawling all over her. Wild, eh? They found a bullet hole from a 12-gauge Mossberg shotgun (that Snider had bought from and ad in a local newspaper) on her cheek, blood on the walls and curtains, and she was missing the tip of her left index finger.

No one knows for sure what transpired during their meeting, but blonde hair was found in Snider’s fists. The only scenario that makes sense, was that Dorothy was sitting on a corner of the bed when Snider put the gun up to her cheek. She tried to shield her face with her left hand, thus destroying her left index finger when Snider pulled the trigger. A half an hour later, Snider turned the gun on himself, and fell on top of the shotgun. Kinda makes you wonder what he did for 30 minutes. No wait, I don’t want to know. There were bloody handprints on Dorothy’s buttocks. Oh yeah, Paul had ants crawling all over him too.

Near Dorothy, was the “love seat.” According to police, it was set in a position for “possible rear entry intercourse.” There was evidence that the seat had been used, and she had been fastened to it with medical tape.

Kathy Harcourt … A Mysterious End

Kathy Harcourt was a little known porn actress who appeared in a handful of films in the early 80’s. Her biography is scarce at best. IAFD does not list her date of birth, date of death, or place of birth. Because she was only active in the industry for a couple of years, and was not exactly a fan favorite, very little is known about her.

According to RAME.net, Harcourt did die sometime in the mid 80’s. Her body was allegedly found floating the East River; the cause of death was determined to be a gunshot wound to the head. The gun was actually found upstream leading some to believe that that the wound was self inflicted. Because the gun had been in the water for nearly a day no fingerprints could be lifted. It is also rumored that Harcourt was deeply in debt to a drug dealer who might have murdered her and thrown the gun into the river after the murder took place. To this day the case is unsolved.

Vanessa Freeman, Murdered By Her Boyfriend

Vanessa Freeman AKA Trudy Webb was found in her bed strangled to death on January 9, 2007. Webb was a British porn actress and an escort. She had boasted a boy band member among her list of A-list clients. Shortly after her death police discovered Webb’s boyfriend attempting to commit suicide by jumping off a bridge. She was 30 at the time of her death.

Taylor Summers, Murder, A Bondage Shoot Gone Horribly Wrong

Taylor Summers, born Natel King, was a Canadian born porn star who mostly appeared in fetish porn shoots. In March of 2004 King’s nude body was found down a deep ravine in Whitemarsh, PA, a suburb of Philadelphia. She was found draped in black fabric secured with duct tape, bound with straps and a ball gag. Her body had multiple stab wounds to both her chest and hands indicating a struggle with her murderer.

Police quickly arrested and charged photographer Anthony Frederick, 47, and his assistant Jennifer Mitkus alleging that the murder occurred during a bondage shoot gone terribly wrong. Police speculated on the possibility that the murder might have been recorded and that King may have unknowingly been the subject of a snuff shoot.

In August of 2005, Frederick was found guilty and sentenced to 24-51 years in prison for the murder. At sentencing he issued a verbal apology to the King family during which King’s mother fled the courtroom in tears. Frederick claims the murder took place during an altercation over money immediately following the photo shoot although evidence suggests otherwise. King was 23 years old at the time of her death.

Where is Lolo Ferrari? Dead… Intentional Overdose or Murder?

Lolo Ferrari, born Eve Valois (March 4, 1962 – March 5, 2000) was a French dancer and actress billed as “the woman with the largest breasts in the world”, though their size was artificially achieved.

Born in Clermont-Ferrand, Puy-de-Dôme, France, she was raised in the resort town of La Baule in an intellectual but extremely dysfunctional family. When she was a child, her father was relocated causing the move to La Baule. Her mother abused little Eve constantly, saying she was no good and that no man would want her, even going as far to whip Eve after her husband left her and her children. As a teenager, she obtained a few modelling jobs. In 1988, she married Eric Vigne, a man 14 years older.

Encouraged by her husband, Ferrari underwent numerous plastic surgery operations to create a 180-cm (71-inch) silicone-enhanced bust (22 enlargements, a Guinness world record). The Guinness Book of Records says each of her breasts weighed 2.8 kg (6 lb 2 oz) and contained three litres of serum. She had to wear a specially engineered brassiere, and as a result of her many surgeries she suffered from a number of medical afflictions and lived with a heavy regimen of drugs.  Her brassiere measurements have been given by various sources as 58F, 54G, and 54J.

The question of whether Ferrari had the largest surgically enhanced breasts in the world was hotly debated. Adult film stars such as Chelsea Charms, Maxi Mounds and Minka have been reported with even larger surgically enhanced busts, which they gained through the use of string implants. Ferrari remains to this date the woman with the largest bust enhanced with standard silicone implants.

Procedures had by Ferrari were said to have included:

Adopting the stage name “Lolo”, from a French slang word for breasts, along with “Ferrari” as a last name, she made a few pornographic films. Use of the Ferrari name (which she justified since it was her maternal grandfather’s name) led to lengthy trademark infringement court battles with the Italian Ferrari automobile company when she tried to market a line of underwear called Ferrari Underwear and a Lolo Ferrari doll. Hoping to launch a pop music career, she recorded two singles, titled “Airbag Generation” and “Set Me Free”, as well as two more singles, a Euro disco cabaret song called “Dance Dance Dance”, and a cover of Thelma Houston’s Euro disco hit, “Don’t Leave Me This Way”. Neither song was given a commercial release. However, Ferrari retained a cult-like following.

On the morning of March 5, 2000, the day following her 38th birthday, Ferrari was found dead at her home in Grasse in the Alpes-Maritimes département on the French Riviera, apparently the victim of a self-induced prescription drug overdose. According to statements made by Eric Vigne, her husband, who had found her body, she had been planning her own funeral, and a few days before her death had visited an undertaker and picked out a white coffin, saying she wished to be buried in a pink ballroom gown, with her favourite white teddy bear.[citation needed]

Shortly before her death, Ferrari is said to have expressed interest in having her implants removed. She had also taken a lover, a Monaco police officer. Eric hired and paid for two girls named Audrey and Karine Jablecki to have silicone implants to extremely large sizes, dubbing them The Silicone Girls. They were to be Ferrari’s backup singers, but ultimately replaced her.

Vigne was later arrested owing to new evidence and apparent inconsistencies in his version of the events leading up to her death. For instance, the drugs in her stomach had not begun to enter her bloodstream, and her body showed signs of mechanically induced suffocation. Vigne stated that Ferrari had possibly rolled over while she was sleeping, causing her to be suffocated by her large breasts. This was not likely, however, as Lolo was purported to be a careful sleeper, even when under the influence of the multiple sleeping pills and anti-depressants she took.

Vigne spent more than a year in prison before being released. Ferrari’s mother, Catherine Valois, has been pressuring authorities to officially charge Vigne for the alleged murder. As of August 2007, no legal action has been taken.

Where is Zoey Zane? Dead, Murdered, Suspects on the Run

Emily Sander’s body was found on the side of US 54, 50 miles east El Dorado, Kansas on December 1, 2007. Sander’s family was shocked to learn after her disappearance that she had been appearing nude on adult websites in mostly solo pictorials. She was living a double life as a normal 18 year old college student by day and an Internet porn starlet by night. She performed under the alias Zoey Zane. Sander went missing on November 23rd after last being seen with suspect Israel Mireles, 24, leaving a bar in El Dordao. After Sander was reported missing a large amount of blood was found in Mireles’ hotel room setting off a large manhunt for him and his 16 year-old pregnant girlfriend.

Alongside Sander’s body was a missing bed cover from the hotel which police are now treating as a murder scene. A rental car that Mireles and his girlfriend were driving was found abandoned on November 23 in Vernon, Texas where Mireles has relatives. Authorities suspect that the couple are either trying to flee to Mexico or fear that may have already done so. The website ZoeyZane.com has setup a reward for to assist in the apprehension of Mireles.

Where is Haley Paige? Dead … Murdered by Her Husband?

Porn actress Haley Paige’s body was found on August 21st 2007 in King City, California. She had been missing for over 2 months as rumors circulated about her possible death from a heroin overdose. It turned out that Paige, 25, was murdered. In July of 2007, Paige’s husband, Inkyo Volt Hwang, aka Chico “Wanker” Wang, had been arrested and later released in connection with the kidnapping, pistol-whipping and torture of Paige. Hwang, a porn director, had a history of violence toward women and had served a 2 year sentence in the late 90’s for the kidnapping and rape of a girlfriend. Shortly after Hwang’s release on the kidnapping charges he and Paige were married in Las Vegas. After Haley’s body was found Hwang was questioned and released by police. On September 29th 2007 Hwang’s body was found in an Economy Inn motel in Morgan Hill, California. The results of a toxicology report are pending although there is a strong possibility that Hwang took his own life realizing that he was the primary suspect in Paige’s murder. Hwang, pictured below, may have been on the run at the time of his death.

Where is Candy Barr? Dead from Pneumonia at 70

The infamous stripper, burlesque dancer and pornographic actress Candy Barr passed away on December 30, 2005 at the age of 70.

Candy Barr was born Juanita Slusher in the small town of Edna Texas. Her early years were traumatized by the sexual abuse at the hands of her neighbor who was also her babysitter. At the age of 13, Barr ran away from home to Dallas Texas where she landed in a brothel and was virtually a slave.

In 1951, at the age of 16, she appeared in a short underground blue movie called Smart Alec. She claims she was drugged and forced to perform in the pornographic film. Despite being an underground film, it was wildly circulated and many consider Barr to be the first porn star because of it.

In 1953 she married Troy Phillips and had a daughter in 1954. The marriage was actually her second, her first coming at the age of 14. In 1956 Barr shot her husband Phillips who was known to be violent. Phillips was not fatally wounded although Barr was charged with assault with a deadly weapon. The charges were later dropped.

While stripping at the Largo Club in L.A. Barr met gangster Mickey Cohen and the two dated. In October of 1957, Barr’s home was raided and the police confiscated close to an ounce of marijuana. She was charged with drug possession and Cohen helped to bail her her out of jail. Cohen also helped Barr go into hiding and set her up in Mexico for a short while in an attempt to avoid sentence.

She was also a know acquaintance of club owner Jack Ruby who murdered Lee Harvey Oswald immediately following the Kennedy assassination. Barr was questioned by the FBI 12 hours after Ruby murdered Oswald.

Barr was arrested and charged with marijuana possession again in 1968 though the charges were later dropped. Barr eventually retired from stripping and settled in Brownwood Texas.

In 1976 at the age of 41 Barr re-appeared in a Oui Magazine pictorial older and out-of-shape. Barr later moved back to her home town of Edna where she lived out her remaining years in quiet retirement mostly wanting to forget her past.
